I love being on a “finance journey” as a family because there are so many examples all around our house that remind me that we’re doing it together … as a family.
Here is a picture of some candles we used this evening for my son’s 4yr old birthday. There are about 10 of them and we’ve barely used them. I asked my wife how long we had had them and she said about 6 years. We light them, sing happy birthday, blow them out, wash the bases of them and put them back in the drawer.
It’s just another example of how we’ve learned to be conscious the things we use so that we can save.
And! … it’s an example of how being on a budget helps conserve natural resources and our environment. Not something that people usually associate with budgeting.
I sense a future blog post coming on! … potential titles being
- “Being Green with your Green”
- “Green Peace with your Piece of Green”
- “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Budget!”
- “Saving the Environment … and Dollars !”.
hmmmmm. More work definitely needed.
